The Supported Parent: A customized strategy
In this initial free meeting, the TEA Advocate learns more about the child’s strengths, needs, and challenges. Parents learn more about their advocate and options for future collaboration. Together, they map out a plan for advocacy and support.
The Equipped Parent: Comprehensive analysis of Special Education documents
The TEA Advocate will thoroughly review all relevant documents and develop a plan to address the parent's specific concerns. In a scheduled one-hour session, the parent and advocate will convene to create a plan that not only addresses the parent's concerns but also fosters the educational advancement of the child.
The Empowered Parent: IEP Meeting Advocacy
The TEA Advocate will attend and actively participate in the child’s IEP meeting, ensuring all parent’s concerns are appropriately addressed and the child’s needs are met.
The Emboldened Parent: IEP Meetings Advocacy and ongoing consultation
The parent has access to ongoing support throughout the academic year. The TEA Advocate is available to review data, offer recommendations, and actively engage in up to 4 IEP meetings (including amendments) a year. This comprehensive level of advocacy ensures continuity of support.
